Bachelor: Live Blog #1

7:56pm: As my boyfriend likes to do with sporting events - he has inspired me to live blog The Bachelor, what a smart man :) So here goes ...

8:00pm: Well, tears my heart out to see poor Ben Flajnik get shut down by Ashley, but it just wasn't right and provides us sappy girls with a 'soon to be' phenomenal season filled with drama, crying, too small bikinis, jealousy, and oh yes, love?

8:07pm: A winemaker and a kayaker? Sign me up!! ((sorry Mike)) This guy thinks that he is going to be living the dream with 25 women at his feet!!! Ha Dream on - sounds like the worst idea ever, I honestly can't imagine the drama that happens in that house. It's awesome to watch (for me) because I find it funny, yet I do love seeing all the fun dates that ABC pays for.

Babe, operation dumpsville....population YOU - I'm gonna have to remember that one ;)

Side note: this is the first time I have EVER watched the television show with a guy (well, he's reading a book next to me). It makes me miss my best friend Kim, she and I are texting each other as the show goes on, but you know it's still not the same.

8:15pm: "The diplomat's daughter".... um, really? I think she might be the new Vienna. yessssssssss

8:18pm: Mike - "First thing I would do if I was on this show is eliminate all the blondes."
                           Well, I guess it's a good thing I am a brunette?

8:24pm: The skinny tie must really be in... both Ben and Chris? Interesting.

8:27pm: Chris: "Do you think your dad will be with you for part of this?"
               (Jenny's thinking) Duh... he's always with him, what a stupid question.
              Ben: Answered it awesomely discussing hummingbirds - how cute is this.

Rachel Rose: ehh. But I'd be nervous being the first one too
Erika: I wouldn't hire a law student dressed like her. Nice cheesy pick up line
Amber Bacon ha: Canada, eh? He seems very disinterested
Elyse: she seems nice - but I think he might be hard to read
Jenna: cute white dress and black shoes. wait, is the dress 2 pieces? And this is an awkward meeting. Deuces!
Courtney: cute shoes, they'd be impossible to walk in. This girl reminds me of my friend Colby haha and she almost ran into the flower garden
Emily: I like to see a PhD student on the show... really shows you that grad students don't have a life and can't date while getting their degree. She had a really cute first meeting!
Samantha:  Really? Have to show off your pageant sash? Where's the crown?
Casey S: Awkward meeting - should have straightened her hair
Amber: cute dress, very different. Super cute come back!
Holly: reminds me of Playboy Holly. pretty awkward meeting
Jamie: cute dress
....I missed this next girl - but she really messed up with the wine joke haha
Blakeley: what is the difference between a waitress and a cocktail waitress? Her dress looks like a creamsicle
Sheryl: 72, crutches? TOO DANG CUTE! ...how the heck to ABC allow this
Britteny: great ploy with the grandma
Nikki: yellow, yuck.
Dianna: wedding dress? great first ditsy impression lol

Lyndsie: (the new Vienna) she sounds like she should be narrating Cinderella
Anna: Detroit!! representing!!! Nice job with just walking away, ballsy

Shawn: bold green dress - slug on the arm? we playing baseball?
Casey:her pick up line back fired
Lindzi: wow, ABC is getting daring! allowing her to ride in on a horse!

8:52pm: let the gossip begin! Lindzi was just creative riding in on a horse, girls are all jealous!

8:58pm: I think the first impression rose will go to Anna for just walking away when she got out of the limo

9pm: Thoughts: does the Bachelor get to pick the races/appearances of the contestants on the show? All of the contestants are caucasian, blonde/brunette (fake or real), and skinny. I know there is an intensive screening process, but beyond passing a background check - how much screening can ABC actually do for individuals? Or better yet, how much should they do? How can Ben TRULY find love if there is a screening process done by ABC before hand?

9:01pm: Nikki from Texas - divorced but very bold. Hence why you don't get married too young, maturity! Good thinking not to tell Ben too early.

9:03pm: I think that Lindzi has a good chance go get the first impression rose - seems like a good connection. Also, I am still really confused as to why the Grandma is still there. Shouldn't she have left right away like the horse did? On the contrary, Brittney seems pretty genuine.

9:13pm: another person with a tattoo???? brings me back to the good ol' Casey days! haha

9:14pm: just thinking.... how long is this night? they all have time to talk to him and additionally have time to country line dance together? I feel like this has to go late into the night

9:15pm: omg Emily.... only a girl going for her PhD would come up with a witty rap like that! that was awesome! first impression rose?

9:19pm: going back to my previous comment... these girls sit around for a long time and just drink and make asses of themselves. OMGOMG! when did this turn into the lesbian bachelor ((side note: I have ABSOLUTELY nothing against lesbians at all, AT ALL)) but what the heck is Monica doing!!! This again, brings me back to the scandal with Jake and the girl (Rozlyn) who had "relations" with the camera man.

9:26pm: yet again - I wish they would give us an actual timeline for when this stuff happens on the show. Too much time, too much alcohol, too much drama = positive ratings. Why the heck is Jenna taking things so personally? Perhaps she is jealous of the action that is brewing?? Why does she need Monica's approval - isn't this about Ben? Additionally, Monica's cackle is atrocious.

9:29pm: ohhh lordy is Jenna a train wreck! crying already? ahhh always so different from the Bachelorette episodes where the guys are trying to be all manllyyyy around each other. funny how these 2 shows work!

9:33pm: As Jenna cries and tries to "self-sooth" in the bathroom.... Ben is giving his first impression rose to Lindzi, that's a cool thing! Yeah yeah yeah, Kim was right and I was wrong

9:40pm: So, is Jenna seriously coming out of the bathroom in the middle of the rose ceremony? Hahahaha Well, I don't know why she doesn't follow the advice that she posts in her own blog. Hm. Also, did she really just come out and hold hands with the girl to her right? phew. I hope she sticks it out, she's going to make this Bachelor a phenomenal hot mess.

9:51pm: Apparently I missed 3 people when recording those who got roses. Balls. "I need to pay more attention when live blogging". I probably got wayyyy to caught up in Jenna getting a rose. ;)


I'm way too excited for this season of The Bachelor. The drama excites me SO MUCH! Perhaps I don't have enough drama in my own life which is why I like all of this. Who knows! But the best part about it - more virtual dates with my bestie Kim :) wahooo!!!!!!
